Our link with Rugando School In Uganda
Year 2 and Year 4 children have been writing to and receiving letters from a rural community in south west Uganda. Mrs Johnson and Mr Farrington attended a special Ugandan evening at St Mary's Church last night and learned some more about some of the difficulties experienced by the school children because of their limited facilities.
Open afternoon and evening
All parents are invited to come into school between 2.30 and 4.30 to see your child's work and chat with your child's teacher. You are also invited to introduce yourself to your child's new teacher in their new classroom.
If you wish to discuss your child's annual report (which will come home on Friday 12th July) in more detail, please just ask your child's class teacher to suggest a convenient time.

Lots of activity in Healthy Living Week!
I hope you all enjoyed taking part in the skipathon, sports mornings, swimming galas (for Years 3 & 4) and other activities this week! Today the staff played the children at netball and football and a good time was had by all! Tomorrow we conclude our week with a Long Walk at 2.30! Our children are also helping on Friday in appointing Olympic Legacy Leaders, sports coaches who will be working across all the schools in DASP.

Summer Reading challenge
Librarians from Dorset County library have challenged all the children to join in the Creepy House Summer Reading journey. Check out Dorchester County library or www.creepy-house.org.uk for more details.
It would be great if every single child at The Prince of Wales School spent some of their summer holidays enjoying some great books. i look forward to giving out lots of badges and certificates in September!

Music lessons for next year...
This is a plea to ask parents of children who learn an instrument (and pay) to let us know if their child will be stopping or continuing next year? Just be helpful to know in planning within school. Just pop by the office, or see me, or let class teachers/ teaching staff know or email us!
Thank you
