Christmas head gear competition and Technology day

We had a huge amount of entries for the competition on Friday with a hard job for the judges! There was an incredible standard across all classes with some extremely creative and inventive designs. As we told the children, every entry was a winner as standard was so high. A big well done to the children and parents for such fun, engaging competition entries.

The children had a wonderful day on Christmas Technology day. The atmosphere was very Christmassy with staff in Christmas jumpers. Every classroom and team reported a wonderful day, children behaving impeccably, super craft items created too and a few sweeties along the way! Again, a huge thank you for those parents who came along to lend a hand.

POW Musicians Christmas performance...

On Monday 9th December children who are currently learning instruments in school are going to be performing to the rest of the school and their parents (letters have been sent out). The assembly will begin at 10am and will last approximately 45 minutes. The whole school will also be attending this assembly.
It is a lovely occasion to see all our school musicians perform and also gives them an experience of performing in front of an audience.
If your child has been having lessons outside of school and they would like to participate too then PLEASE let me know!

Xmas DT competition!

A ‘Design your own Christmas novelty head gear’ competition has been set up throughout the school for all the children to tackle if they so wish, the deadline being Friday 13th December (the Christmas Technology Day).

The ‘head piece’ will need to be:

·         able to be worn!

·         have a festive flavour to it

·         display interesting design elements about it

The children have been told that parents are allowed to help them create the head piece but it must be obvious to the eye that they have been involved too!

We will hold a parade in the school hall during assembly time, each child who participates will be able to wear their head pieces and explain to the judges what is special about their design. We anticipate choosing a winner per class if plenty of entries.

Finally, if you do need any card then please see Mrs Webb in Year 2 who may be able to help?

 Happy making!    Mrs Mewett
