Summer fair 24th June, 2016.

Thank you to all who came along after school to attend the summer fair. It was very successful, the rain held off and plenty of people spent pennies too!
Thank you also to the POWSA committee who together worked hard on setting up, manning stalls and clearing away. It all worked well due to many hands on deck!
We are losing some POWSA members this year as their children move onto Middle school. If it is an area where you can give a little time to help at events or if you prefer the planning side then do drop by, email the office who will gladly forward emails to POWSA. We need you!

Successful "Bike-It Breakfast" today!

Well done to all of the children (and parents) who came to school on the bicycles and scooters today to enjoy a "Bike-It Breakfast" on arrival. This event was well-supported again.

Dorchester carnival -18/06/16

A huge well done to the POW mice and rats which followed the Pied Piper (Mr Gibson) through the streets of Dorchester on Saturday 18th June. We had some very tiny mice in a pull along too!
It was lovely to see so many faces of children and families along the streets on the procession. A worthwhile cause and I know all who took part were happy to be part of this community of fund raising. Thank you to Mrs Scott and Mrs Bernard also for organising this event for the school to take part in.

Building our learning powers! 15/06/16

We had some visitors to our assembly today who delivered our next super hero learning challenge! Captain America and Super girl presented 'POW' our school mascot with our second envelope. The challenge is to learn how to be 'reflective' within our learning. Learning and using skills as planning, revising, distilling and meta learning are areas in which classes are going to focus upon this half term. These skills will help us as learners be able to see how we learn, what helps us learn and how we can get better at challenges as well.

The Queen's tea party 10/6/16

We had a lovely whole school Queen’s tea party on Friday 10th June. Preschool also joined us for this event, the whole school stood and sang the National anthem, and of course ‘ Happy Birthday’ too before tucking into the delicious cakes you all generously sent in.

Unfortunately then the rain paid us a visit, however before long we were able to venture back outside to complete the event by playing some ‘Royal based party games.

I would like to thank all the Yr 3 and 4 pupils for being so helpful in collecting tables and chairs from across the school supported by our adultsto enable the event to happen. The children were also very helpful in supporting the younger children at the tea party. It really showed off the ‘service’ element within our school community, helping others where we can. Well done and thank you to all who made the event special.
