recycling

Recycling Christmas Cards in the New Year

Please help us recycle your Christmas cards for the Woodland Trust Scheme.
We're asking you to recycle your Christmas cards to help us turn your cards into trees!

For every 1,000 cards dropped in to Marks & Spencer stores for recycling throughout January 2017, a new tree can be planted!

In the New Year, please bring any Christmas cards to the foyer outside the school office where there will be a bin. Do bunch these together and place a slip with the amount you are posting into our bin - this way the children will be able to calculate quickly whether we have collected enough to plant one or two trees. Please do not put loose cards in. The recycling bin will be in the foyer form the start of term. If you can, please do support this worthwhile venture. We will then make arrangements for the cards to be transported to Marks & Spencer at the end of the January 2017.

We wonder how many trees we can donate?!

Technology day (9/12/16)

A ‘Christmassy, art and crafty’ day was enjoyed by all on Friday 9th December. It was the POW school annual ‘Technology day’ when children select three activities in which they wish to create a Christmas themed piece of art/ design work.  The manner in which children moved around the school, worked well within the mixed up age groups was superb. All children were displaying our resilient tortoise in tackling activities and the older children were lending a hand in helping organise the younger children’s work, showing the next steps in how to produce an item. Super skills from one and all! Some products made have been added to this blog.

Thank you finally to all parents who managed to join for some/ or all of the day, the extra pairs of hands very much helped!

Christmas fair, 2nd December

What a busy, Christmassy feel to the school yesterday evening! The school was full of children and our families making the realisation that Christmas is nearly knocking on our doors!

The school would like to thank you for your support, for the goodies donated and for spending those pennies! All which will be ploughed into making the children's learning and environments a richer place to learn in.

A huge thank you also to everyone who has helped in preparing for the Christmas fair, preparations, laying out and running stalls to tidying up at the end. Thank you to POWSA.
